Welcome to the new website: BryanDav.is

It’s Launch Day!!

Screen Shot 2014-08-30 at 1.02.40 AM

Following the preview, the other day, I’m happy to say that my new website is now ready to be unleashed upon the internet! The first important thing to note is that it has a new address – BryanDav.is! Don’t worry, though; any bookmarks you’ve made to the old BryanDavis.info site should resolve here too, or at least the page should be easy to find, if you run into an error page.

There are still a few content updates to be made, but this is now the hub for my online activities. People reading this post after finding it on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ will notice that as a pattern from here on out: my aim with the new site was to create a place where I can post just once and have it hit all of those services automatically. I was becoming frustrated with the amount of extra time it was taking to triple post every piece of information I wanted or needed to share with my audience. There is more important stuff to be done; not least practicing, teaching and performing!!

Please take a look around and leave a comment below with your feedback. I look forward to seeing what everybody thinks about my new online digs!!

The Website Revamp Is Almost Finished!

I’ve been saying for some time that this website is long overdue for a redesign. The previous incarnation (still temporarily available on a separate domain) has served me well for over 5 years, which is a long time on the internet, but has been showing it’s age for a while! This revamp has taken some considerable time to finish, principally because I’ve (happily) been so busy with other projects, both in music and web development; my ‘other’ job, as it were. The site you are now looking at is the result of this process, and is very nearly complete.

There will be some additional tweaks to be made, particularly to the way it looks for mobile devices with smaller screens, but for devices with larger displays (computers, tablets etc) it should be in pretty good shape!

Please take a look around. Comments will be enabled in the next day or so, so you will be able to leave any feedback when they are. Comments are now enabled, so you may leave feedback if you wish. There is already a “soft launch” announcement post on my Facebook Page – you can also comment there, if anything seems really broken.

Eyal Vilner Big Band Kickstarter Project

One of the most enjoyable groups I’ve been playing with lately is Eyal Vilner’s remarkable Big Band. We’re playing 3 shows in NYC this coming week, at the Garage Restaurant and then 2 late shows at Dizzy’s Club, up in Jazz at Lincoln Center. Dates are on my Schedule, as ever! Then we’re hitting the studio, the following week, to record Eyal’s new charts for his 2nd Big Band CD. I’m excited to be a part of it!

In common with many recording projects, these days, we’re asking for crowd-funding support to get this record made! There are many incentives on offer for those who may wish to support Eyal and his musical vision. Please watch the video below and then head over to the Eyal Vilner Big Band Kickstarter page for more information.

Thanks for taking time to read this and I hope you’ll consider supporting us!

Trumpet Lesson Contest Update

Less than 100 Facebook ‘Likes’ to go, folks! We should have a winner very soon. Here’s a final reminder of what you need to do:

1. “Like” the Bryan Davis Facebook Page
2. “Like” the original Contest Announcement Facebook post (link) to register your interest in the lesson.

YOU MUST DO BOTH OF THESE TO ENTER!!!

Delighted to have added over 470 Page likes, in the past 3 weeks since the contest started. However, strangely, only 108 people have actually entered the contest; i.e. ‘Liked’ both page and post. If you misunderstood what to do, it’s not too late!!

Missed the contest announcement? More details are here.

Win A Free Trumpet Lesson!

I have a contest running on my Facebook page, at the moment, as I work to increase the ‘fan following’ over there. The lucky winner will receive a free 1 Hour Trumpet Lesson. This lesson can take place in person, should the winner be located here in New York City (or in a city around the world that I currently have plans to visit, in the next little while), or Online via Skype.

It’s easy to enter. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. “Like” the Bryan Davis Facebook Page.
  2. “Like” the announcement post about the contest.

The winner will be picked, at random, from people who have “liked” both the page and the post, when the total Page Likes hit 2500. (At time of writing, that total is currently 1993 likes.)

Please share this post, or the Facebook Announcement post, with anybody you think may be interested in this contest. Best of luck!!
