Tonight, June 24th 2026, the mighty Schapiro 17 takes the stage at the Third Street Music School in NYC, to celebrate the recent release of our album “Best Laid Plans.” First set begins at 6:30pm ET. For any interested parties not able to make it in person, the concert will also be livestreamed!

Getting back in the publishing game…

Today, I realized that it’s over 3 years since I published a new book at Airflow Music. 3 years!

That is going to change very soon. First up, I’ll finally release the printed version of Twisted Technical Studies, Vol. 2 which was suspended due to the pandemic, when the PDF version originally came out in March 2020. Then it’s time to finish Vol. 3 in both digital and print formats and get them out too. Maybe that’ll get me moving on finishing some of the other titles I have in various stages of development.

Deep breaths and let’s go!

UNO Jazz Camp 2023

I’m delighted to announce that I’ll be joining the faculty for this year’s UNO Jazz Camp at the University of Nebraska Omaha, from June 5-9, 2023. In addition to teaching trumpet masterclasses and coaching ensembles, I’ll be playing lead trumpet in the faculty big band – the Great Plains Great Big Band – which performs daily during the week. The band/faculty is stacked with wonderful musicians and educators. I’m honored to be included and thoroughly looking forward to it.

We’re north of the border, today, up in Brantford, ON, Canada. We’ll be performing a matinee of the music of Ray Charles, with “Ray On My Mind” at the Sanderson Centre. Show starts at 2pm. Come by if you’re in the area.
