We had a very enjoyable reading session, this evening, with Steven Feifke’s great big band. Here’s a quick Trumpet Cam clip from Steven’s arrangement of the Lerner & Loewe standard “Almost Like Being In Love.” It has a typically challenging lead part, as usual.
(Please forgive the sound quality on this video; I forgot to take the actual trumpet cam with me, so I had to make do with my iPhone.)
Here’s Otto Sauter & Ten of the Best performing “Angels We Have Heard On High” at the Wartburg Festival, on November 29, 2014.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas!! Frohe Weihnachten!! Joyeux Noel!! Feliz Navidad!!
Here’s another in the recent series of videos from last weekend’s concerts with Otto Sauter‘s Ten of the Best at the Wartburg Festival. This time it features my good friend Aneel Soomary playing “Beautiful” – written by Linda Perry, which was such a huge hit for Christina Aguilera. This is a great showcase for Aneel’s wonderful playing and demonstrates why he is the most in-demand trumpet player in Vienna, Austria and numerous surrounding areas!
Here’s Thomas Gansch at the Finale Concert of the Schagerl Brass Festival 2014. A beautiful rendition of “Share My Yoke” – simply gorgeous playing!!!
Here’s the first official YouTube video from this past summers Schagerl Brass Festival. From the Schagerl All-Star Big Band concert, although just featuring Thomas and James on Flugelhorns; you can see the rest of us looking on! They list the tune as “Wes Got Rhythm” by Wes Montgomery, although I remember it as “Haig & Haig” by Clark Terry.
