Tonight, the mighty Eyal Vilner Big Band returns to The Garage Restaurant in Greenwich Village, NYC. We’ll be playing 2 sets between 7 & 10pm. No cover, good food and GREAT music! This band really swings. Do come on out and join us.

In related news, the new CD we recorded back in June has been mastered and will be going to be manufactured soon. The preliminary mixes I’ve heard sound fantastic! More news about that as I have it.

Today’s a busy day of rehearsals and teaching, culminating in a visit to “The Jazz Corner of the World” for the regular Friday show by the Birdland Big Band. We’ll be roaring away, at the club, from 5-7pm. Hope to see you there…

There was a time when I used to regularly play all 14 Arban Characteristic Studies, back to back, as a trumpet workout. Just took a stab at them today – boy, am I rusty!! Time to go back and try and tidy them up a bit…

Celebrating Halloween with a double, tonight.

First, I’ll be with the Birdland Big Band for their regular Friday show, 5-7pm at the club.

Then, later, we’ll rocking the 34th Annual LES Halloween Ball at the Theater For The New City, down in the East Village, with Maquino Mono: The Monkey Machine! The event starts around 8pm and we’ll be hitting the stage at 10:30ish.

Hope to see you out and about…
