Please be aware that my teaching rates will be increasing on January 1st, 2015. They have been frozen since 2009. Happily, you still have the opportunity to pre-book a block of time at the current rate – your credit will remain valid until used. Join many of my regular students in prepaying a block of lessons to see you into the new year. There is an easier way to play the trumpet and I can help you discover it for yourself!

Tonight, the Kyle Athayde Dance Party Big Band returns for their FINAL show at The Garage Restaurant, in Greenwich Village, NYC. We’ll be playing 2 sets between 7pm and 10pm. Come on out and enjoy Kyle’s great charts played by an extraordinary band! There will be high notes!!

This evening, I’ll be playing the Duke Ellington version of the “Nutcracker Suite,” by Tchaikovsky, with the Brooklyn Jazz Orchestra. The concert is held at Lafayette Ave. Presbyterian Church, located at 85 S. Oxford St. in Brooklyn, NY; we begin at 5pm. There are some tickets available at the door, priced at $25. Come on out and enjoy some great music played by an incredible band – it sounded fantastic in rehearsal!

By a happy coincidence, today is also the 94th Birthday of the great Clark Terry, who played on the original record of these arrangements with the Duke Ellington Orchestra. Happy Birthday, CT!!

When I revamped and relaunched the website, earlier in the year, there were a few things still to be finished before they could be added to the new version. Chief among these was the Online Lesson Request Form, which has just been re-added to the now-updated Teaching page. Also, it is worth mentioning that, after a price freeze since 2010, my teaching rates will be increasing on January 1st, 2015. All the more reason to prepay a block of lessons now! Lock in the lower price while you have the chance!
