Looking forward to a busy day of students and rehearsals, before running over to join the Birdland Big Band for their regular Friday evening show at the club. We’ll be playing from a little after 5pm until 7pm. Come on out and roar into the weekend with us!!
Trumpet Cam – February 19, 2015
We had a very enjoyable reading session, this evening, with Steven Feifke’s great big band. Here’s a quick Trumpet Cam clip from Steven’s arrangement of the Lerner & Loewe standard “Almost Like Being In Love.” It has a typically challenging lead part, as usual.

Tonight is the night! Looking forward to playing the 2nd CD Release show with the Eyal Vilner Big Band, in support of our new record Almost Sunrise. We’ll be playing 2 sets, at 8:00pm & 9:30pm in the Dizzy Gillespie Auditorium at the Baha’i Center NYC, on E11th St between Broadway & University Place, with our special guest; NEA Jazz Master Jimmy Owens! Cover charge is just $15 ($10 students)! Come hang and enjoy Eyal’s great arrangements played by a stellar band. Hope to see you!
