I wish you all a very Happy New Year, as it reaches your time zone!

I’ll be ringing it in with the Birdland Big Band, as we finish up a most enjoyable week playing at Birdland in NYC. It’s been a great way to finish the busiest end to a year I can remember. May we all continue to prosper in 2018!

Looking forward to swinging out with Mike Sailors and his Nonet, this evening, as we hold down the late shift at The Django, in the basement of the Roxy Hotel, in NYC. We’re playing 10:30pm-1:30am and it’ll be a party! Hope to see you…

Last Minute Lesson Opportunities in Eisenach, Germany – 2017 Edition!

I’m thoroughly looking forward to joining Otto Sauter & Ten of the Best for this coming weekend’s concerts at the Wartburg Castle, up the hill from Eisenach. I now have the schedule for the few days I’ll be in Germany, actually a little earlier than last year, so I’m able to offer the following times for any brass students who’d like to organize a lesson with me. There are 2 blocks of available time.

  • Friday, Dec 1 – between 10:30 and 15:00
  • Sunday, Dec 3 – between 12:00 and 16:30

That means there are potentially 2 slots on both Friday and Sunday. Please check the details on my Teaching Page and, if this is of interest, please file the Online Lesson Enquiry Form on that page.

Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you in Eisenach this weekend!

Double duty, this evening:

First up, I’ll be playing with Memo Acevedo and the Manhattan Bridges Orchestra at the Local 802 Club Room, on W48th St in NYC, as part of their “Jazz In The Afternoon” series. We play at 5pm. There is no cover charge but donations to the Musicians Benevolent Fund are encouraged at the door. Please come by to support this worthy cause and hear some great Latin Jazz!

Later, I’ll be with the mighty Eyal Vilner Big Band at Swing 46, on NYC’s Restaurant Row (W46th between 8th & 9th Aves). We’ll be swinging, for your dancing pleasure, from 9pm to midnight.

Hope to see some friendly faces at either or both of these shows!
