I’m closing in on 30 consecutive days that I’ve posted here on the site. They’re not all incredibly meaningful, like this one, but it’s good to get back into the habit of posting regularly. It’s a practice I intend to continue. Now, talking of practice…
Habit forming…
Thoroughly looking forward to hitting with Robert Edwards’ great Big Band, tonight directed by Jon Beshay, at Swing 46 in NYC. We’ll be swinging for your dancing pleasure from 9pm-midnight.
Today was something of a day off, music-wise, so I spent some time “under the hood” tinkering with the website and preparing for the upcoming redesign. It’s interesting to see how things have updated since last I spent a lot of time working on websites, which was my day job for a number of years. I’m enjoying the re-education.
Tonight’s Gigs: March 19, 2023 – Big Band Double Duty @ Birdland
This evening, I have a doubleheader at Birdland in NYC!
At 5:30pm, we perform with the Jihye Lee Orchestra. Jihye is a remarkable composer, and this music is really something special! Please come and check it out.
Then, at 8:30pm and 10:30pm, Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra take the stage, continuing a residency which is now in it’s 28th year!
Tickets and more information on both of these at: https://birdlandjazz.com
It’s been gratifying to see the attention my recent YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels have been garnering. This has been an important period of growth on both platforms. Please follow me on them, if you aren’t already.
