Tonight, the Kyle Athayde Dance Party Big Band returns for their FINAL show at The Garage Restaurant, in Greenwich Village, NYC. We’ll be playing 2 sets between 7pm and 10pm. Come on out and enjoy Kyle’s great charts played by an extraordinary band! There will be high notes!!
This evening, I’ll be playing the Duke Ellington version of the “Nutcracker Suite,” by Tchaikovsky, with the Brooklyn Jazz Orchestra. The concert is held at Lafayette Ave. Presbyterian Church, located at 85 S. Oxford St. in Brooklyn, NY; we begin at 5pm. There are some tickets available at the door, priced at $25. Come on out and enjoy some great music played by an incredible band – it sounded fantastic in rehearsal!
By a happy coincidence, today is also the 94th Birthday of the great Clark Terry, who played on the original record of these arrangements with the Duke Ellington Orchestra. Happy Birthday, CT!!

Tonight, we play the 2nd of our “Swinging Christmas Melodies” concerts at the historic Castle ‘Auf der Wartburg’, above Eisenach, Germany. Yesterday we played to a packed house and had a great deal of fun!! Looking forward to more of the same tonight.
