We had a roaring start to our week at Birdland with Tommy Igoe & the Birdland Big Band, yesterday evening. Both shows were well sold and the crowds loved it! Tonight is night 2 of 5 – come on out and see what all the fuss is about! Hope to see you…

I’m looking forward to the first night, tonight, of our 5 night run at Birdland Jazz Club with Tommy Igoe & the Birdland Big Band, featuring special guest James Genus on bass. We’ll be playing 2 shows nightly from Tuesday, December 29th to Saturday, January 2nd at 8:30pm & 11:00pm. In addition, we’ll also be playing our regular 5:15pm show on Friday! That’s right: 11 shows in 5 nights!!

The line up is typically stellar:
Trumpets: Nick Marchione, John Walsh, BD & Glenn Drewes
Trombones: Mark Miller, Isrea Butler & James Borowski
Saxes: Nathan Childers, Alejandro Aviles, Dan Willis, Rob Middleton & Tony Lustig
Piano: Kenny Ascher
Bass: James Genus
Drums: Tommy Igoe

A slammin’ band roaring away all week long – please come and check it out!

I’m looking forward to our first concert of the Japanese leg of the tour, with Otto Sauter & Ten of the Best. We perform at 7pm, this evening, at Sapporo Concert Hall Kitara. I’m thoroughly enjoying my first visit to Japan – looking forward to playing to a good crowd tonight!
