Getting a busy day of music underway! About to start a full day of rehearsals with Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, for our concert at The Apollo Theatre in Harlem, tomorrow evening. We’ll be featuring Dr Cornel West among our guest soloists – premiering “The Cornel West Concerto” by Arturo O’Farrill. Should be an amazing night of music!!

In the meantime, later today, I’ll be making the late show hit with the Seth Weaver Big Band at the Zinc Bar, in the West Village. We’ll be holding court from 10pm to 1am. Hope to see you out and about!!

Looking forward to some Big Band double duty today.

First, from 4:30pm–7:00pm, I’ll be with Eyal Vilner’s Big Band at Smalls Jazz Club, in NYC. Come down and hang with us or, if you’re not in town, watch the online stream at SmallsLive.com.

Then, at 9:00pm & 11:00pm, I’ll be with Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra for our weekly visit to Birdland.

What better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than to bring your Mom to see either (or both!) of these great big bands? Hope to see you out and about…

Looking forward to playing with Mike Longo and the NY State of the Art Jazz Ensemble, this evening, at the Baha’i Center NYC Jazz Tuesdays. Mike’s original music, alongside repertoire from Dizzy Gillespie and Duke Ellington, all played by a great band! 2 shows – 8pm & 9:30pm. I hope to see you there!

The Baha’i Center is on E11th Street between Broadway and University Place, in NYC. Just 3 blocks south of Union Square.
