Today, I’ll be accompanying the legendary Mr Lou Christie, for his shows at the Doo Wop Cavalcade, at the Great American Music Theatre in Lancaster, PA. 2 shows, at 2pm and 7:30pm. It’s been a minute since I’ve played a matinee day!!
Tonight, Mike Longo’s New York State of the Art Jazz Ensemble, with vocalist Ira Hawkins, returns to Jazz Tuesdays at the Baha’i Center NYC. 2 shows at 8pm & 9:30pm. Cover charge is $15 ($10 for students). The John Birks “Dizzy” Gillespie Auditorium is a great room to hear music and the band, playing Mike’s great compositions and arrangements, is top notch. A thoroughly enjoyable evening of music with Eyal Vilner’s Big Band, last night. The band played great and Ginny’s Supper Club was packed and abuzz with appreciation. Just the kind of gig I like!!
