YouTube videos returning very soon – it’s range time!

I’ll be getting back to posting regular #GoPractice videos over on the Airflow Music YouTube Channel very shortly – sometime this week. I spent some time today cooking up a short routine we can practice everyday for 30 days to build range and get those higher notes under better control. Please subscribe to the channel, if you haven’t already, and join us. I’ll be practicing right along with you.

Update: this has been briefly shelved while I take time to properly prepare. More details here…

It’s great to be back in my studio practicing, teaching, recording and working on videos today. I’ve missed it!

Also, come on out to Birdland tonight – the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra takes the stage at 8:30 & 10:30pm, as every Sunday.

Traveling has totally thrown off my practice rhythm. Returned from Los Angeles back to NYC today. The time difference is such that we left pretty early in the morning and got back late in the evening. Therefore, no opportunity to pick up the horn and practice. It’s been a rough week for practicing already, so I’m looking forward to changing that in the coming days, now I’m home.

Felt really good to pick the trumpet up again after a couple of days off, necessitated by travel and family commitments. I don’t take a break like that often and, occasionally, it can be helpful. However, I have to keep up with it now, as I’m hitting the ground running when I get back to NYC at the weekend. Busy week in prospect….

Please join us as the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra take the stage at Birdland, in NYC, for our regular Sunday night shows. We play sets at 8:30pm and 10:30pm.

If you’re not in the vicinity, you can also catch Virtual Birdland online – after almost 3 years, we’re still producing this weekly show. Tonight is episode 153! Watch online at: https://youtu.be/aT2F6es5img
