After an enjoyable first concert of the tour in Leipzig, yesterday evening, we roll on to Eisenach, Germany to the famed castle ‘Auf der Wartburg’. Eisenach is a town steeped in musical history. It was the birthplace of Johann Sebastian Bach and, later, Franz Liszt was the musician at court at the Wartburg; in fact, our concert is in the hall they built for him! We’ll be performing “Swinging Christmas Melodies” this evening, and tomorrow, at 7:30pm.

Looking forward to joining Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra for their weekly visit to Birdland Jazz Club, in NYC, this evening. We’ll be playing our usual 2 shows, at 9:00pm & 11:00pm. I always enjoy throwing down with these incredible musicians – come and check it out, and see what all the fuss is about!

Looking forward to joining Gregorio Uribe’s fantastic Big Band at the XII Encuentro NYC Colombian Music Festival, held this evening at Le Poisson Rouge on Bleecker St., Greenwich Village, NYC. We’ll be bringing the festival to a roaring conclusion with our set from 8:45pm-10:00pm. Hope to see some of you out and about!

Double duty today!!

Come and join us, this afternoon, at The Museum at Eldridge Street for a performance by the Eyal Vilner Big Band. We’ll be playing Eyal’s fiendishly swinging charts from 3pm. http://eldridgestreet.org for details.

Then, this evening, I’ll be swinging with Vanessa Trouble & The Red Hot Swing, for your dancing pleasure, at Swing 46 from 8:30-11:30pm. Come hang, and bring your dancing shoes!

Hope to see you out and about supporting live music today!
