Bryan Davis is a New York-based trumpet and flügelhorn player and teacher who is considered one of the finest lead trumpeters working today. Originally from the UK, he moved to the United States in late 2009 following an early career built in the UK jazz and commercial music scenes and a decade spent touring major theatre productions. This era included a five-year tenure with The Rat Pack – Live from Las Vegas, which also afforded him his first performances in the USA and served as an important developmental period as a lead trumpeter.

Since settling in New York, Bryan has become a mainstay of the city’s music scene, currently performing and/or recording with The 8-Bit Big BandBlood Sweat & Tears, and The Duke Ellington Orchestra, among many others. His work is featured on five Grammy-winning albums: three with Arturo O’Farrill & the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra and two with The 8-Bit Big Band, including the recent Orchestrator Emulator. Other recent professional highlights include tour and television appearances with Kelly Clarkson, and a tour of Japan with the Persona 5 Special Big Band project. On Broadway, he currently substitutes at Chicago and Death Becomes Her, with past sub credits including Boop! The MusicalA Wonderful WorldWater For Elephants, and Some Like It Hot.

Education is an integral part of Bryan’s career. He has been an adjunct faculty member at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music since 2015 and maintains a busy private teaching studio. As a guest artist and clinician, he has led workshops at institutions across the US and internationally in countries such as Austria, Brazil, Germany, Mexico and the UK. Through his Airflow Music imprint, Bryan has published six instructional books — including two volumes each of Combination Drills and Twisted Technical Studies — and produced over 300 educational videos on YouTube.
